The Credit Valley Conservation Authority celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Fletcher’s Creek SNAP at Fred Klein Park with nature activities and engagement with community partners. Highlights included educational bird encounters, community involvement in over 345 events engaging 7,520 people, and eco-friendly projects like the installation of a rain garden at Glendale Public School.

Summary of the Brampton Environmental Alliance 2026 Annual General Meeting
So what has the Brampton Environmental Alliance been up to in 2025 and why should you care? Let me start by answering the second question first. While economic challenges such as food inflation, home affordability and U.S. tariffs dominate the news cycle, the impacts of climate change and environmental destruction take bigger and bigger bites from our pay cheques each year while negatively affecting the lives of every Canadian.
Brampton Environmental Alliance member, Cindy Evans helps students safely ride their bikes to school using a United Way grant. It’s all part of the Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program administered by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

The BEA attended two events on March 22. The first was a Health and Wellness Day hosted by the TRCA Bramalea SNAP team. The second was an Earth Hour Community Event in Caledon East. Attendees were asked to sign the One Planet Living pledge.
The environmental movement experienced considerable resistance in 2024 with differing opinions being vehemently expressed on both sides especially on areas of climate policy and active transportation. BEA members soldiered on against these challenges and progress was made in the four focus areas, Advocacy, Events, Education, Collaboration. Challenges continue at the start of 2025 but good may come from this chaos as the country faces both economic catastrophe and climate-based apocalypse.
