What is ClimateFast?
ClimateFast — a volunteer-led nonprofit driving
climate action through education and civic
engagement. In partnership with the BEA, we are:
- Launching Climate Voting Records, a public
- website tracking how Brampton City Councillors
- vote on climate and environmental issues.
- Promoting transparency and accountability so
- citizens can see where their leaders truly stand.
Why it’s important?
- To inform and empower residents with clear, accessible data on how our elected officials vote on environmental issues.
- Builds transparency and accountability in local decision-making.
- Supports climate-conscious policy by tracking council actions on key environmental topics.
- Highlights a growing concern: recorded votes have dropped sharply
- Fewer recorded votes = less public visibility into how decisions are made.
- Without records, we can’t see how councillors act on key issues:
- Active transportation & transit
- Land use & natural habitats
- Waste management & air quality
- Energy transformation and energy management
- Climate & sustainability policies
